workstands
If you're going to conduct any sort of bicycle maintenance you really should have a decent workstand. A workstand allows you to securely hold a bicycle off the ground to give you full access to all areas of the bike. Almost all pro mechanics will have at least one workstand in their workshops. Once you start using a workstand you'll soon wonder how you ever managed without one.
