Bike check over routine from our friends at Pedros (26/01/2010 @ 23:14:07)
We found this nice little video from our friends at Pedros that gives a quick overview of the key things to look out for when checking your bike for wear or damage. If you follow this check procedure every so often you should be able to diagnose any potential problems at an early stage... which can then be sorted by your local bike mechanic... rather than leaving them unattended, allowing them to cause far more damage to the bike (and your pocket!) later on.
If you have any problems with your bike that you aren't sure about or if you need any help with your bike maintenance routine, give us a call or send us an email and we'll do our best to help!
Ta!

New bits from Ice Toolz (25/01/2010 @ 19:48:43)
We've recently taken delivery of a few new tools from Ice Toolz. There are some really clever little innovations coming out of the Ice Toolz stable this year so we're quite excited to have them on board.
The first batch of new Ice Toolz bits that we've received includes a BMX Chain Whip, a BMX Chain Tool and a rather nifty Trail Buddy toolkit.
Why not have a quick look by clicking on the images below...
The Bikegoo Sample Box (21/01/2010 @ 10:20:37)
Here at Bikegoo we occasionally receive samples and advertising products from our lovely suppliers which can be given away to customers to help publicise new and exciting products.
When we receive them here at Bikegoo they all go into our "free sample box" and any customer is welcome to take one.
Unfortunately the samples haven't been shifting very fast so we're going to start dishing out free samples to anyone who places an order on bikegoo and writes "free sample please" in the additional comments box at the checkout of their order. You'll only receive one and it will be completely at random!
At the moment in we have a few samples of Squirt Lube, some Squirt stickers/chainstay protectors, some old Purple Extreme samples and a few other random bits too.
We've got more coming in all the time and sometimes the samples can be quite good so it doesn't hurt to try!

Pedros Vise Whip Videos (20/01/2010 @ 10:51:04)
Pedros Tools are always looking at new ways to approach bicycle maintenance. Their ever expanding range of ingenius tools aim to make the art of maintaining your bike as easy as possible.
One of their latest tools, the Vise Whip (their new locking chain whip), appears to have created a bit of a stir. We've had quite a few customers enquiring... How does it work? Will it fit on my bike? What a strange design... Is it tough enough?
Well the kind folk at Pedros have pointed us in the direction of a couple of great instructional videos to help bring the vise whip to life.
The two videos can be found on YouTube by following the below links:
1) The guys at Pedros run through how the tool works and show you how to remove your cassette lockring (also highlights the super useful Pedros Pro Socket Handle and the HG Socket!). Click here to view.
2) Lennard Zinn, the designer of the Vise Whip runs through how it works and how the design came about. Click here to view.
And once you've watched those videos, if you fancy getting your hands on your very own Vise Whip, you can find it on Bikegoo here.
We hope this helps!

Squirt gets glowing review in Dirt Magazine (19/01/2010 @ 10:39:03)
We're a bit slow on reporting on this one (as Dirt reviewed this back in October last year!) but we thought its definitely worth mentioning.
Basically its another glowing review for Squirt bike lube. The full Dirt write up on the item can be found here.
The great thing about this review is that its not just the guys at Dirt who think its ace. Look at the comments at the bottom of the review. Proper normal bike folk love it too.
So far we've sold a lot of Squirt, its the lube of choice on the Bikegoo team bikes and we've only had praise back from everyone who has used it.
So, if you've not given it a go yet, its about time you did... its available on bikegoo right here.
Muc-Off 8 Comes to Pippingford (18/01/2010 @ 17:47:46)
We just wanted to put a quick note up about what could be the best MTB event of the coming months. The Muc-Off 8 MTB Enduro will be taking place on the 11th April at the Pippingford Estate in Nutley. Its a cracking 8 hour endurance fest for solos, pairs and teams of three or four. The great thing about this is that its just down the road from the Bikegoo workshop in Hartfield.
And because its on our doorstep we will be entering at least one team in the event and we'll be gunning for glory!.. or at least trying to avoid shameful disappointment!
Bikegoo will be open late on the Friday before the event (the 9th) and if anyone needs any last minute tinkering doing to their bikes or requires any of those essential spares please give us a call and drop in. If you mention you are doing the Muc-Off 8, we'll give you 10% off (note; only applies to people who visit us up at the workshop!)
Remember, the South East doesn't get events like this very often, so you'd be foolish to miss out!
For all information about the event please visit the Muc Off 8 webpage here.
See you at the start line!

Singletrack Magazine's Benji Loves Pedros Tyre Levers (16/01/2010 @ 13:27:45)
We're big fans of Singletrack Magazine at Bikegoo and the latest issue includes a great section where the key Singletrack folk talk about their favourite bikes and components. Benji Haworth's selection included the fantastic Pedros Tyre Levers. He says...
"Not a glamorous or exciting choice but everyone needs tyre levers now and again. These are the best ones. Simples."
We couldn't agree more. So if you fancy trying out a set of the "best" tyre levers there are, you can find them here.
Receiving your items over the Xmas period (20/12/2009 @ 10:48:18)
Hello folks,
We just wanted to remind you that all orders placed on Bikegoo before 12.00pm will be despatched the same day by either Royal Mail 1st Class or DHL 24-48 hour courier services (only for large or more valuable orders).
We must re-iterate that 1st Class isn't a guaranteed service and whilst most items will arrive in 24 hours some may not. So if you absolutely MUST have your items by Christmas, we would recommend trying an alternative service such as Royal Mail Special Delivery (which will guarantee to be with you the next day). Unfortunately there will be an additional charge to do this but it may be worth it to have your presents there on time!
If you would like to do this, please let us know using the "Additional Comments" box at the final stage of the order process or by emailing us at support@bikegoo.co.uk within 30 minutes of placing your order. We can then give you a quote for the additional cost of the postage and then you can decide whether you would like to go ahead or not.
We hope this will give you another option for urgent items over this Christmas period.
Merry Christmas

Squirt! (13/05/2009 @ 12:55:14)
Squirt is the latest addition to our lube range and this one is a cracker. Squirt is a dry wax-based lube thats supreme on dry and dusty trails. Its also highly resistant to wet conditions that makes it able to be used almost all year round.
On top of this Squirt is biodegradable which means its great on the environment.
Its also very easy to maintain. All it needs is a reapplication every now and again and a brush down to remove any grime. No degreasing or anything like that is required.
Its also been endorsed by a number of MTB legends including hall of famer Ned Overend. So it must be pretty good!
All in its an excellent choice and perfect for summer conditions. For more info have a look at Squirt's webpage here and if you fancy trying some you can buy it on bikegoo here.

We're really pleased to announce that we've now included Pace's Fluidworx lubricant range into our bikegoo catalogue. We're huge fans of this legendary British cycle company and even when we were daft naive young cyclists we used to drool over Pace's amazing bikes and components. So we're very happy to be able to get these guys involved.
To learn a bit more about Pace lubes and to see their phenomenal range of frames and forks see www.pace-racing.co.uk

So how did they do? (22/01/2008 @ 20:48:31)
Well the two Bikegoo boys managed a very credible 11th and 17th place in the solo event. And thats despite one of them falling foul to sickness and diarrhoea afer the first lap... and then having to do a Paula Radcliffe in a ditch... in full view of everyone. Nice one Graham.
A very good effort indeed boys. Roll on the next one...

Bikegoo Goes to Strathpuffer! (07/01/2008 @ 12:28:13)
OOOOOOOOOOOH YEAH! Off to Scotland we go!
Bikegoo is supporting two fine fellows who are foolish enough to take the challenge of the toughest 24 hour race of them all (allegedly)... the Strathpuffer 24.
Strathpuffer takes place on 19th and 20th January in the heart of freezing Scotland. Its going to be a cracking event this year and and we encourage you to get along if you're a biker who likes a massive challenge. To find out a bit more about Strathpuffer go to the webpage http://strathpuffer.co.uk/strathpuffer/event_strathpuffer.htm
Soooo.... who are these crazy fools who make up the Bikegoo team? Well, their happy smiling faces are below....
These fellows are Graham and Mark and have been friends of us at bikegoo for many years.
So if you're heading up to Scotland for the Strathpuffer keep your eyes peeled for our boys (they should be wearing nice luminous bikegoo clothing) and wish them all the best (or maybe even give them a push if they look like they're struggling)!
Anyway, good luck team! Bring home the glory! Or just try not to come last!
